Doost & Amici is an established, independent restaurant in Kennington, serving a Mediterranean menu inspired by Persian and Italian food. We are looking for an experienced and professional waiter or waitress to join our front of house team.

This role is suitable for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, understands good service, and is confident looking after guests in a busy restaurant environment. We are looking for someone warm, reliable, well presented, organised and able to work as part of a small but dedicated team.

The right candidate should be comfortable with lunch and dinner service, private events, group bookings, brunch, drinks service and day to day restaurant operations.

Main Responsibilities

Welcoming guests in a friendly and professional manner.

Taking food and drink orders accurately.

Explaining menu items, allergens and specials clearly.

Serving food and drinks with confidence and attention to detail.

Working with the kitchen and bar team to keep service smooth.

Looking after tables from arrival to payment.

Helping with restaurant setup, clearing, polishing, cleaning and closing duties.

Supporting private parties, events and group bookings.

Upselling drinks, desserts, specials and set menus in a natural and professional way.

Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and guest care.

What We Are Looking For

At least 1 year of waiting experience in a restaurant, café, hotel or similar hospitality environment.

A professional and friendly attitude.

Good spoken English.

Confidence speaking to guests.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Good knowledge of service standards.

Ability to stay calm during busy service.

A team player who is punctual, reliable and respectful.

Someone who takes pride in hospitality and wants to grow with the business.

Desirable Skills

Experience with OpenTable or restaurant booking systems.

Experience with EPOS tills.

Wine, cocktail or bar knowledge.

Experience with private events or large group bookings.

Knowledge of Persian, Italian or Mediterranean food would be a bonus, but training can be given.

Pay and Benefits

Pay:

  • Age 21 and over (National Living Wage): £12.71 - 13.00per hour
  • Age 18 to 20: £10.85 per hour

Staff meal during shift.

Training on food, wine, cocktails and service.
