Description

Join our innovative team as a Software Engineer and be a pivotal part of Cobalt's journey in redefining cybersecurity. In this role, you will apply your expertise in full stack development to drive significant advancements in our Pentest as a Service (PtaaS) and Offensive Cybersecurity platform. Your contributions will directly impact the way businesses globally detect and manage cybersecurity risks. What You'll Do

Engineering Excellence: Contribute to the development of our SaaS platform, focusing on high-quality, scalable solutions using Ruby/Rails, Javascript/React. Apply architecture decisions under the guidance of Senior and Staff level engineers, and craft reusable UI components for our shared design system.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and a team of Engineers to translate business needs into innovative features, enhancing user experience and platform capabilities.

Build Robust Solutions: Balance tech debt removal with forward-looking feature development. Actively participate in code reviews and technical planning to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Continuous Integration, Continuous Learning: Apply best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, automated testing, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).  Regularly identify areas for personal growth and stretch goals, such as working with AI based projects or Front-end Engineering, to broaden your skill set.

Grow Your Career:  Work with Senior and Staff level Engineers on a variety of cross-team technical initiatives, and participate in our Growth & Mentorship Program

You Have

Proven Experience: At least 3 years of experience in full-stack development, with a track record of delivering successful, user-centered solutions.

Tech Proficiency: Strong skills in our architecture: Ruby on Rails + JavaScript (React).  Additional familiarity with other aspects of our tech stack is a plus: Node.js, cloud environments (GCP, Kubernetes).

API Mastery: Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, understanding their role in scalable, efficient applications.

Code Quality Focus: Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and a thorough understanding of application architecture principles.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration in a remote setting.

Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches, with a proactive mindset and willingness to contribute ideas.

Bonus If You Have

Advanced Skills: Experience with advanced cloud-native technologies, microservices architectures, or security best practices is highly advantageous.

Open Source Contributions: Active participation in open source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio demonstrating your passion for software development.

Pay Range Disclosure (For US openings only)


Cobalt is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is ($ 100, 000 - $ 150, 000 per year + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.  The salary range may differ in other states and may be impacted by proximity to major metropolitan cities.
