Accountability

  • Safe and legal operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination.
  • Proper loading and unloading of freight to ensure safety and minimal risk of damage to cargo and danger to persons.
  • Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operation and freight movements.
  • Professional representation of the company and the trucking industry through responsible driving.

Eligibility Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to squat/kneel
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to sit for several hours at a time while
  • Must be able to perform duties inclusive of driving a commercial motor vehicle including but not limited to grasping/steering; pushing gas pedal, clutch, and brake with appropriate strength; sitting for several hours; reaching in order to shift gears.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of tractor repetitively
  • Must be able to dolly up and down trailer
  • Must be able to open, close, and lock trailer doors
  • Must be able to walk around trailer and stoop to inspect
  • Must be able to write a complete log
  • Must have vision at least 20/40 corrected
  • Must be able to hear a forced whisper from 5 feet without hearing devices
  • Must have no impairment of the hand, arm, foot, or leg that interferes with the ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
