Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tow trucks and recovery vehicles to assist with vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or impoundments.
  • Load, secure, and transport various types of vehicles including cars, trucks, and specialty equipment such as refrigerated trailers or flatbeds.
  • Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Respond swiftly to roadside emergencies, providing roadside assistance such as jump-starts, tire changes, or fuel delivery.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including time stamps, locations, and vehicle details.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to coordinate services efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws during route driving and vehicle handling.

Skills

  • Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving roles, especially with tractor-trailers or dump trucks.
  • Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles with precision and control.
  • Familiarity with specialized equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks is a plus.
  • Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of route driving strategies to optimize response times across different locations.
  • Experience handling freight or cargo transport involving flatbed or tanker trailers.
