Account Executive - South Africa

Other Jobs To Apply

Hi! I’m Soumaya , Sales Manager for North Africa at WeTravel , based in Morocco.

I’m currently looking for a motivated and proactive Account Executive based in South Africa to join our global sales team. While my base is in the North, we are seeing explosive growth across the entire continent, and we need a high-performer to become part of a success hungry team who leads the charge in the vibrant South African multi-day tour operator market.

I actually started at WeTravel as an Account Executive myself, so I know firsthand how rewarding this role is for someone with a 'builder' mindset. Since we launched our North African operations in 2023 , the momentum has been incredible. We aren't just looking for someone to hit a target; we’re looking for a hunter who wants to redefine what’s possible in the African travel tech space.

Our goal is bold: building the world’s leading booking and payments platform for group travel. You’ll be instrumental in expanding our footprint in South Africa and contributing directly to that mission.

How We Work

At WeTravel, our Sales team combines autonomy with strong collaboration. As an Account Executive, you'll own the full sales cycle — from initial outreach and discovery calls to product demos, closing deals, and smoothly handing off to onboarding.

We focus on understanding each client's unique needs and aligning our solutions to match. You won’t just sell — you’ll guide and support potential customers in discovering how WeTravel (products) can truly help their business thrive.

We value proactive, solution-oriented individuals who aren’t afraid to take initiative, spot opportunities, and act on them. Our team moves fast, supports one another, and celebrates wins together — big and small. You’ll spend most of your time doing what actually moves the needle: prospecting, demoing, and following up with qualified leads.

You Should Apply If You

  • Have 2+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in SaaS or the travel industry
  • Are fluent in English (proficiency in other languages is a plus?)
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Are comfortable making outbound calls and conducting product demos.
  • Have experience managing the full sales cycle and achieving sales targets.
  • Are self-motivated (we love self starters!) and goal-oriented.

You Might Not Be The Right Fit If You

  • Prefer a highly structured environment with constant supervision.
  • Are uncomfortable with outbound sales activities and cold calling.
  • Lack experience in consultative selling or managing the full sales cycle.
  • Are not self-driven and need lots of guidance.

On a Weekly Basis You Will Find Yourself

  • Prospecting and reaching out to potential clients in the travel industry.
  • Conducting product demonstrations and highlighting the value of WeTravel's platform.
  • Managing the sales pipeline and closing deals to meet or exceed targets.
  • Collaborating with the onboarding team to ensure a smooth transition for new clients.
  • Providing feedback to the product team based on client interactions and needs.

Benefits

  • Attractive compensation - uncapped commission. Base Fulltime Salary is $22,000 (USD) (On Target Earnings: Year 1 OTE = USD $38,000, Year 2 =USD $50,000).
  • Fulltime - Fixed Term Contract (as International Contractor).
  • Generous Time to Recharge policy — enjoy unlimited paid time off to rest, recharge, and show up as your best self.
  • Amsterdam Program – visit us in Amsterdam (HQ) for 2-4 weeks every year, staying in one of our WeTravel apartments.
  • Work remotely for a maximum of 4 weeks per calendar year.
  • Extensive paid family leave.
  • Three paid volunteer days per year — take time to give back to causes you care about, on us.
  • 2-week cross-functional onboarding program.
  • Cutting-edge equipment and tools to set you up for success. Coverage for certain work-from-home (WFH) equipment.
  • Cambly for colleagues for whom English is not their first language.
  • Join an international, travel-loving team with a passion for adventure and innovation.

Please Note

  • As a member of our international team, you’ll work full-time under a B2B contractor agreement, with monthly payments in USD.
  • For this role, we can only consider candidates who have the full legal right to work in South Africa (citizenship or residency). Unfortunately, WeTravel is not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation assistance at this time.
