Role Overview: Reporting to the Head of Producer Relations, this distribution-based Voluntary Benefits role partners closely with New York Life sales and account management teams to educate the market, optimize plan designs, and deliver high-impact finalist presentations that drive Voluntary Benefits growth. The role blends deep product expertise with consultative selling skills to create tailored benefit solutions that align with employer objectives and employee needs. What You’ll Do: • Develop and execute national initiatives, business plans, and sales strategies to expand voluntary product adoption and increase market share. • Serve as a subject matter expert to strengthen distribution teams’ product knowledge, consultative skills, and competitive positioning. • Partner closely with key broker firms to deepen relationships, understand market needs, and collaboratively drive voluntary benefits growth. • Grow and protect voluntary benefits revenue through broker engagement and new business sales support. • Present voluntary benefits capabilities, product differentiators, and best-practice plan designs in client and finalist meetings. • Work closely with underwriting, product development, marketing, claims, and operations to ensure seamless delivery of voluntary benefit solutions. • Performance Management: Track KPIs, analyze sales data, and report on growth metrics to senior leadership. • Provide strategic direction on voluntary benefit products and services as well as industry trends to distribution teams • Champion continuous improvement to increase customer satisfaction for our voluntary benefit products and services. • Collaborate with internal business partners to ensure producer and customer needs are understood, satisfied and in alignment with overall strategy. What You’ll Bring: • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience • 6+ years of relevant experience desired • Active Life and Health Insurance license or obtained within 30 days of hire • Deep understanding of Voluntary Benefits marketplace including Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity product portfolios • Established history working with national brokers and consultants preferred • Familiarity with enrollment solutions and benefits tech administration platforms • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment • Thought leader/SME in voluntary benefits, with experience mentoring or supporting sales and product teams • Strong understanding of the voluntary/worksite insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective, including the ability to analyze and understand financial and performance metrics. • Ability to focus externally including identifying business/industry trends, changes in market conditions, and competitor activity. • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact and act as a consultant on professional issues with NYL’s senior leadership, internal and external business contacts • Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategies that will increase new Voluntary Benefit sales for both regional and national teams. • Ability to travel up to 50%.
