Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GovCIO is currently hiring a Sr. Front End Developer to support their growing Digital Services development portfolio. The role involves developing dynamic, responsive, and Veteran-friendly user interfaces for web applications while collaborating with UI/UX Designers and stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Works closely with UI/UX Designers and key customer stakeholders to define and deliver exceptional user web experiences
  • Develop and maintain high quality web applications using React, Redux, and JavaSrcipt/TS on Ruby on Rails / Drupal stack
  • Ability to leverage strong software engineering foundation to inform delivery decisions and approach
  • Strong communication skills and human centered design chops
  • Fluid use of monitoring techs like Grafana and Datadog
  • Extreme confidence and experience effectively working Agile / Scrum delivery
  • Demonstrated ability delivering role appropriate technical documentation

Skills

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Experience in developing and maintaining React, Redux, and JavaSrcipt/TS on Ruby on Rails / Drupal
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance
  • Significant experience supporting delivery, enhancement, and maintenance of VA.gov application following established Digital Services Platform patterns
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with diverse team members and customers
  • Significant experience digitizing Government forms
  • Experience evaluating and updating user process flows to enhance user experience and engagement outcomes
  • Passion for delivering compliant interfaces that empathetically empower Veterans in the use of VA.gov
  • Team player. Confident and comfortable in knowledge and acquired skills. Willing mentor
