We are seeking a strategic and technically fluent HR Technology and Automation Director to own the design, optimization, and evolution of our HR tech ecosystem, including Workday, while developing the next wave of HR transformation through AI-powered automation.

This role sits at the intersection of HR, technology, and intelligent automation. In partnership with the VP, HR Operations and the broader HR and IT teams, you will design and execute upon a strategy for HR tech enablement which enhances efficiency, decision-making, and the employee experience. This strategy will feature Workday optimization, overall HR tech stack efficacy, and integrated AI solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Workday Optimization

  • Review the end-to-end Workday platform, including HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, and Talent to optimize for automation and business process improvement
  • Execute the HRIS optimization roadmap aligned with business and HR strategy
  • Partner with business and HR leadership to translate organizational needs into scalable system solutions
  • Establish and oversee future HRIS operating model that incorporates more automated resources for day-to-day maintenance of Workday, including:
    • system configuration, enhancements, and governance
    • data integrity, security, and compliance across HR systems
    • implementation of Workday updates (R1/R2), including impact analysis, testing, and deployment

AI Automation & Digital Transformation

  • Identify and deploy AI-driven solutions to streamline HR operations (e.g., case management, employee inquiries, workflow automation)
  • Oversee maintenance and further implementation of AI-enabled tools such as agents, document processing, and predictive analytics
  • Partner with IT and data teams to integrate AI solutions with Workday and other enterprise systems
  • Evaluate AI use cases for governance, ethical guidelines, and risk controls for usage within HR

Team Leadership

  • Oversee an integrated resource team, including internal, external, outsourced and automated support channels.
  • Establish best practices for documentation, change management, and support
  • Manage people analytics resource and Visier analytics platform
  • Help ensure COE strategy and goals are understood and aligned with various stakeholder groups – senior executives and investors, HR team, line managers, global employee populations.

Qualifications


Required

  • 7–10+ years of HRIS experience, with deep expertise in Workday (multiple modules)
  • Demonstrated experience leading Workday implementations and post-production environments
  • Hands-on experience with Workday configuration, security, and integrations
  • Engagement with and deep interest in innovative HR technology
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data architecture
  • Experience deploying AI solutions within HR (chatbots, knowledge automation, agents, predictive analytics)
  • Experience managing vendors

Preferred

  • Experience implementing automation solutions (RPA, AI tools, or workflow automation)
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and AI ethics frameworks
  • Background in enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the rate shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. The company strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.

Hiring Rate Minimum:

$127,500 annually (minimum will not fall below the applicable state/local minimum salary thresholds)

Hiring Rate Maximum:

$170,000 annually
